PARTIAL EYE EXAM / RED EYE
An eye exam to address specific concerns. Must be an existing patient. Not a full comprehensive eye health exam.
Full colour OPTOMAP imaging provides your eye doctor with a view of approximately 85% of your retina in a single capture.
A non-invasive technique, autofluorescence was developed over the last decade to study the fluorescent properties of lipofuscin, which is a mixture of autofluorescent pigments that accumulate in the retinal pigment epithelium as a byproduct from the incomplete degradation of photoreceptor outer segments.
OPTOS + AUTOFLUORESCENCE (AF)
OPTOMAP AutoFluorescence imaging allows your eye doctor to visualize metabolic changes at the base layer of your retina. AF imaging gives information over and above conventional imaging techniques such as basic retinal fundus photos or fluorescence angiography as it allows visualization of the metabolic changes at the level of the retinal pigmented epithelium (RPE) and helps to identify areas that may be at high risk for the development of geographic atrophy or choroidal neovascularization (CNV). These tests allow for a comprehensive overview of your retinal health and photo-documentation to monitor for even the slightest changes over time.
Retinal Photography (RP) + Optos + af
Anterior photos of the front of your eye capture your cornea, iris and lens. These photos allow clear visualization of any anterior opacities that may be affecting your vision, like cataracts. We also take an extra posterior retinal photo of your retina providing an additional close up view. With this package, you get anterior and posterior photos, Optos photos and autofluorescence Optos photos for both eyes. Available at Woodbine location.
